  • Carlos González Rodriguez is Bachelor in Industrial Design by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana -Azcapotzalco, graduating in 1993.  He began his career in the packaging world in 1995 by accepting a temporary project to support the design of export packaging for disposable razors and double edge blades in Gillette de México S.A. de C.V. 

    In 1996 he is hired as full time Packaging Engineer in charge of the Stationery division (Paper Mate) and Club Stores presentations. From that moment on, Carlos took charge of several product categories such as Blades & Razors, Batteries (Duracell) and Personal Care, giving as a result the acquisition of experience in a vast diversity of products and types of packaging. In parallel, Carlos ascends various positions, until reaching the level of Packaging Project Engineer in charge of the Blades & Razors division. Inside his career in this company, Carlos supported the launching of more than 60 new products average every year, obtained as average $180 thousand dollars of annual savings in costs reduction projects, participated in the creation of the packaging tests laboratory as well as in the development of protocols and tests methods that served to improve the development timing and, especially, to assure the quality of the specified materials.

    In 2006 Carlos accepts the Packaging Engineering and Graphic Coordination Manager position in Hershey Mexico S.A. de C.V. and he moved to Guadalajara. With a team of 3 engineers and 2 graphic coordinators, Carlos supported to the more than 80 launchings that the company has as average every year. They supported the structural packaging development as well as the coordination and approval of graphics of all the new products.  During his period from 2006 to 2008, Carlos supported several launchings in the categories of Pulp, Chocolate, Milk Beverages, Breath Refreshening products, as well as the seasonal items such as Valentine and Mothers Day, Halloween and Christmas presentations among others.  He got as average $120 thousand dollars annual basis in costs reduction projects and $200 thousand dollars by supporting RFI-RFP processes in diverse material categories such as folding cartons and corrugate shippers.

    A re-structure process took place in Hershey Mexico S.A. de C.V and Carlos had to leave the company in December 2008.

    In 2009 Carlos decides to enter in the world of the independent consultancy and he creates "Consultoría en Empaque" in April of 2009. Company oriented to give support and advising to the small and medium industry that does not count with an internal packaging development area.
